Principal Allison’s Notes
Quarter 4 is here!
We are entering the home stretch of the 2023-2024 school year! It has been amazing to watch your children grow academically, emotionally, and athletically. I am excited to see them continue over the next nine weeks. It is important that we stay focused as the weather warms up and summer creeps in for us. We still have 25% of the school year left! This includes Ohio State Testing, End of the year Diagnostics, and so much more.
Students in grades K-2 will be bringing home a Checklist with their Q3 report card. It gives a general idea of how they are progressing through the critical focuses for the year as well as an overview of what’s remaining. Use this as an opportunity to discuss questions with their classroom teachers and work on simple skills at home.
Students in grades 3-5 should be focusing on preparing for their OST’s in April/May. Their attendance on these dates is imperative. Ms. Digges has presented some testing tips below, sure to check them out, as well as earmarking these dates:
- ELA: 4/16 & 4/17
- Math: 4/30 & 5/1
- 5th Grade Science: 5/2 & 5/3
All students will be taking the End of the Year iReady Diagnostic in Mid-May. This will provide us with a true picture of their learning throughout the school year. Teachers will communicate classroom specific dates on their Class Dojo Pages.
Important Considerations:
- Our School Hours are: 8am-3:30pm
- (Breakfast is served at 7:45am and Drop-off begins at 7:40am. We are starting instruction at 8:05am and breakfast will not be served after 8:10am).
- Students are marked Tardy @ 8:15am
- When a student is tardy 15 minutes a day/signed out early, that makes for 75 minutes of lost instruction a week. This can impact their achievement over time.
- See the picture below to see the state definitions around attendance.
- We realize that there are tough work commitments, family schedules/issues, appointments, and other unexpected events and we are here to partner with you to create a plan for your students success and achievement. Feel free to reach out at any time with any barriers that we may be able to provide support.
Keep in mind that we are a small campus, but with that is an opportunity to provide your student with a strong sense of community. Some tips to help stay in the know about all things happening on campus:
- Be sure you are signed up for your student’s Dojo Accounts. This will be a daily connection to all things going on in the classroom.
- Like and Follow-us on Facebook.
- Report Absences at this link: https://fpacad.org/report-absence/
I am so blessed to be a part of your student’s academic journey. Our next newsletter will be out by April 1, 2024.
