It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, and we’re taking a moment to amplify our incredible instructional staff!
Teachers join our school with a desire to make a difference in the lives of children in our community. With hearts of gold, teachers create nurturing classroom environments, develop inspiring lesson plans, adapt instruction to meet individual needs, capitalize on real life teaching moments, support the social-emotional development of students & so much more.
Every school year, our teachers push themselves to the limit to reach each student in their care & to make a difference in each life. We are PROUD, APPRECIATIVE, and ADMIRING of our teachers for their meaningful work this school year. Please join us in thanking a teacher this week!
Please complete your child’s Early Kindergarten enrollment by taking the Early Kindergarten Assessment. Schedule your assessment here today. All Early Kindergarten students must take and pass the assessment.
We are entering the home stretch of the 2023-2024 school year! It has been amazing to watch your children grow academically, emotionally, and athletically. I am excited to see them continue over the next nine weeks. It is important that we stay focused as the weather warms up and summer creeps in for us. We still have 25% of the school year left! This includes Ohio State Testing, End of the year Diagnostics, and so much more.
Students in grades K-2 will be bringing home a Checklist with their Q3 report card. It gives a general idea of how they are progressing through the critical focuses for the year as well as an overview of what’s remaining. Use this as an opportunity to discuss questions with their classroom teachers and work on simple skills at home.
Students in grades 3-5 should be focusing on preparing for their OST’s in April/May. Their attendance on these dates is imperative. Ms. Digges has presented some testing tips below, sure to check them out, as well as earmarking these dates:
ELA: 4/16 & 4/17
Math: 4/30 & 5/1
5th Grade Science: 5/2 & 5/3
All students will be taking the End of the Year iReady Diagnostic in Mid-May. This will provide us with a true picture of their learning throughout the school year. Teachers will communicate classroom specific dates on their Class Dojo Pages.
Important Considerations:
Our School Hours are: 8am-3:30pm
(Breakfast is served at 7:45am and Drop-off begins at 7:40am. We are starting instruction at 8:05am and breakfast will not be served after 8:10am).
Students are marked Tardy @ 8:15am
When a student is tardy 15 minutes a day/signed out early, that makes for 75 minutes of lost instruction a week. This can impact their achievement over time.
See the picture below to see the state definitions around attendance.
We realize that there are tough work commitments, family schedules/issues, appointments, and other unexpected events and we are here to partner with you to create a plan for your students success and achievement. Feel free to reach out at any time with any barriers that we may be able to provide support.
Keep in mind that we are a small campus, but with that is an opportunity to provide your student with a strong sense of community. Some tips to help stay in the know about all things happening on campus:
Be sure you are signed up for your student’s Dojo Accounts. This will be a daily connection to all things going on in the classroom.
I am so blessed to be a part of your student’s academic journey. Our next newsletter will be out by April 1, 2024.

It is hard to believe that we are already halfway through the school year! I am incredibly proud of our growth and continued reflection. Your students are stepping up to the plate and taking accountability for their learning. This is a direct reflection of the community we are building.
I do want to reiterate the importance of attendance and staying healthy. This time of year, it does become a challenge as viral illness is at its peak. We realize that illness is an inevitable part of life, especially with cold/flu season upon us. Students who have a fever over 100.4, vomiting/diarrhea, or difficulty breathing (excessive cough) should stay home to be monitored to prevent the spread of illness. Once these symptoms have subsided, they may return to school. Students also demonstrating these symptoms during the day will be sent home from school. Our goal is to keep the environment as healthy as possible.

November & December- Teacher of the Month
Ms. Garcia was the November Teacher Month
Time for a shout out to our November Teacher of the Month, Ms. Garcia. She teaches kindergarten and brings a warm touch to every space. She loves her students and works hard to help them achieve and grow each day.
She says her favorite thing about being a Tiger is “The commitment to the children and community. Also the transparency with the parents and staff.” We are so fortunate to have her on our team!
Ms. Lives was our December Teacher
Let’s give a shout out to our 3rd grade Teacher, Mrs. Lives! She is our December Teacher of Month. She says the following about our campus: “I love being a tiger because of the organization I work for, but especially because of the team I work beside. As a staff, we really are a team. We are there for each other – as both educators and humans.
I really enjoy coaching. I find it very rewarding to be able to establish connections in and out of the classroom. I spent many years playing basketball, including college so I understand the balance of learning and the discipline to play a sport.
I graduated from Hanover College in May with two degrees – one in Elementary Education and another in Mathematics. I participated in many clubs, played a sport, and was a tutor. This is my first year teaching, but have had previous student teaching opportunities in both the private and public arena.
I have a passion for kids and sports, and at FPACAD I get the best of both worlds. Tigers ROAR!”

August 7, 2023 – Teachers and staff are eager to welcome students to school on August 24 at Fairfield Preparatory Academy, a new public charter school offering competitive sports and college preparatory academics for students in kindergarten through grade 5. New and prospective students and their parents are invited to campus for a School Year Kickoff on August 22 from 5pm-7pm. Guests can enjoy refreshments, meet school staff, and get help with the school registration process.
Fairfield Preparatory Academy belongs to the ACCEL School network—a nationwide network of over 70 charter schools committed to providing educational opportunities for all students regardless of geographic location or socioeconomic factors. The new school is located at 2470 Princeton Road, Hamilton, OH.
Academics Students receive daily instruction in English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Sports. Students additionally participate in Art, Music, Technology, and Social-Emotional Learning. Teachers follow the BLITZ Model which emphasizes mastery of each Ohio Learning Standard. In each subject area, teachers assess each student using scrimmages (every two weeks) and review or accelerate learning material accordingly. Throughout the school year, students, teachers, administrators, and parents track academic performance based on regular assessments, scrimmages, and academic competitions.
Athletics In addition to fitness, intramural practice, and game theory, students play card and board games to learn important aspects of sportsmanship, collaboration, and leadership. By fourth grade, students have the opportunity to participate in competitive intramural and league sports. Middle school students have the opportunity to commit to seasonal or year-round team sports. The school offers competitive sports and physical conditioning integrated into the school day, leaving evenings free for family time and other pursuits.
Leadership Principal of Fairfield Preparatory Academy, Laura Allison is a Butler County native. She completed her undergrad at Troy University and received two master’s degrees, one in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida and another in Psychology from the University of the Rockies.
Principal Allison brings 9 years of experience in education ranging from school office manager to teacher, while serving communities in the Department of Defense, Colorado, Florida, and Ohio. She has most recently served as a Director of Academics for ACCEL Schools in Cincinnati. Her role has been focused on teacher support and development, which ultimately leads to student success in and out of the classroom.
She believes, “All children can thrive in all areas of their world with coaching and support. This is my core belief as an educator and will be the basis of all of the programs at Fairfield Preparatory Academy.” Principal Allison is dedicated to building a positive culture of learning at Fairfield and looks forward to welcoming students on campus for the start of the 2023-24 school year.
